Meet Xieng - Ban Naphia Village, Laos

This is Xieng, one of the artisans who make products for A MILLION ELEPHANTS. He creates unique items from recycled war material, a craft he learned over fifteen years ago from other villagers in northern Laos.

Xieng lives in a small remote village as a full-time farmer. With help from his wife, Boung Mi, he can supplement his farming income off-season by making handicrafts for re-sellers in the city.

As his workshop is out in their backyard and vulnerable to extremely wet conditions during monsoon season, they can only make products during dry season.
